Money for old toffee

The Electoral Commission has released its list of donations for July. Amongst the donors to Andy Burnham’s leadership campaign include one from Liverpool player Jamie Carragher for £10,000. Burnham himself is an Everton fan, and despite the fact the Carragher proudly dons the red shirt for local rivals Liverpool each week, he is in fact an Everton supporter himself. Just a shame Carragher’s probably backing another losing team.
